The local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution plans to hold a posthumous ceremony in honor of Moffat County Commissioner Saed Tayyara at 7 tonight at Craig Chris­tian Church, 960 W. Victory Way. Tayyara died Saturday evening in Craig.

Independent Living Council meets Sept. 10

The Colorado Statewide Independent Living Council is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 10 at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13. A 15- to 30-minute public comment session is scheduled at 1 p.m. for people who wish to address the SILC about issues concerning individuals with disabilities in and around Craig. Sign language interpreters will be available throughout the meeting, which will be fully accessible.
Fires partially contained
