Church Makeover July 9, 2007
Volunteers complete finishing touches to the inside of Craig’s Kingdom Hall on Sunday afternoon. Projects included reupholstering the church’s 150 seats and installing new tile and carpet.
Gary Wentz, of Casper, Wyo., lays brick on the exterior of Craig’s Kingdom Hall on Friday. About 600 volunteers from Wyoming and Colorado renovated in the inside and outside of the building on Westridge Road in four days.
Cristal Saulnier, a member of the Craig congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, cuts fabric to reupholster church seats Friday. About 600 church members from Colorado and Wyoming joined local volunteers to complete a four-day renovation of the church, which volunteers built for the community nearly 30 years ago. Saulnier said the old church “did the job,” but now, “it’s nice to have something you’re proud of.”
Church elders Dave Osborne, from left, Bruce Nelson and Rob Huntwork stand before the near-complete Kingdom Hall on Westridge Road on Sunday. Jehovah’s Witnesses from the area gather in different cities about once a month to renovate churches in need of repair. Craig’s meeting place was this month’s project.
