This photo was snapped Oct. 5 by Daily Press reader Chuck Mack. The drive inspired him to write the following poem. “Down the Road,” by Chuck Mack. Wouldn’t it be boring? / If all the roads were straight. / No hills to go up and down. / No curves to go around. / Just one long ribbon of road. / Thank God for the mountains. / Without the mountains. / There would be no mountain roads. / No hills to go up and down. / Each hill with a different view. / No curves to go around. / Around each curve we are sure to see something new. / Myself, I’m glad all roads aren’t straight.
