The city of Craig solid waste department is not providing residential trash service on the Fourth of July. To accommodate residential customers during the week, trash service will be as follows:

• Monday through Wednesday trash will be picked up on its regular trash schedule.

• Friday’s trash will be picked up Thursday.

If you have any questions or concerns, call City Hall at 826-2005 or the Road and Bridge Department at 824-4463, or leave a message at 824-3278.

State Historical Fund hosts free workshop

The State Historical Fund is scheduled to host a free workshop on funding historic preservation projects at 10 a.m. July 21 in the basement of the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave. The focus of the workshops is to help people better understand the State Historical Fund’s grants program. Workshop topics will include planning a State Historical Fund project and eligibility requirements for applicants and projects. Space is limited and prior registration is suggested. VA emergency room open July 4 weekend

The Grand Junction Veterans Affairs Emergency Room will be open July 4 for registered patients.

All other clinics will be closed.

During the July 4 weekend, Veterans Affairs patients who need nonemergency medical advice can call the medical center’s front desk at (970) 242-0731 and ask to speak to a nursing supervisor at any time day or night.

This line is for nonemergency use only; for medical emergencies dial 911.

Holiday visiting hours at the VA medical center are:

ICU 5th Floor: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Inpatient 5th Floor: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

* Inpatient 3rd Floor: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Community Living Center (formerly TCU): Case by case basis as appropriate.
