Check this out. Does anyone know of anyone doing this? I know 3 people in Arizona who are doing this and have at least doubled their gas mileage. With the high price of gas, it might be worth checking out. I'm going to put it on my car this fall.

Here is an interesting concept. Gas cost $0.31 per gallon in 1965. Using an average rate of inflation of 6%, gas prices should be $3.80 per gallong 43 years later. SInce we saw double diget inflation in the 70s and 80s it is likely that our average rate of inflation over the last 43 years has been higher than 6%. A 7% average rate of inflation would have gas at $5.69 per gallon. Kinda keeps things in perspective doesn't it?

I was in Amsterdam last Sept. No one drives a car there, just bikes. Gas was over 6 bucks/gal. I was blown away at the amount of bicycles. People have two each and they must be parked and locked in a specific way or they'll take the front tire off.

They have one bike to drive to the subway and another one at the end of the line for them to ride to their office. Woman, dressed for the office, all were on bikes. The bikes were different than what we see here. They even have bikes for mom which can carry the kid and groceries.

Their favorte fast food is french fries and mayonnaise. They burn the carbs.

Can any of you imagine living in L.A. right now and spending hours on the freeway each day? It's over 4 bucks a gallon there and independent truckers are striking over the prices.

I believe we'll be close to 5 bucks a gallon this summer. The “Futures' traders are having themselves a hayday on WallStreet.

Taxslave - I bet you are right. Gas is going to be over five bucks a gallon. Gas in europe was $1.25 per litter five years ago. I am willing to bet that gas is way over $6 bucks a gallon over there. The futures markets in the commodities markets (they are generally in Chicago for commodities on the CME) are the reason that fuel prices are so high, not because of supply and demand, but that is my opinion. I see all of these people running to the store with their V-10 Diseals and I just cringe because I know they are only getting about 10 miles to the gallon. At four bucks a gallon you would be looking at 9 gallons round trip to steamboat or $36 dollars. My car get about 35 miles to the gallon, so a trip to SB costs me less than $10. Sadly, we will never see low gas prices again in my life.

These are good points. That is why I am going to run my car with hydrogen. It is not a pressurized system, is very easy to hook up and is good for the earth. The exhaust is water. It is not a 100% hydrogen conversion. It mixes the hydrogen with the gas, so you are still using gas, but it cuts the gas usage way down. I am all for doubling my gas mileage. It is suppose to work on diesels too, but I have to do some more studying on that.

granny, question for you. if I'm driving my hydro car in colo in the middle of january what happens when thatwater hits the road? maybe arizona will get a little greener but I wonder if anyone has seen the reports about how it is actually the water vapor that keeps the heat in the atmosphere instead of letting it ecscape into space. sometimes I just wonder if we are the end all that we pretend to be on earth. semms like she has taken pretty good care of herself for the last few billion years. the key is in the oil refineries. Salt Lake cities refineries rejected over ten thousand barrels on the first of may because they didn't have the capacity to process it. you have to call and complain to the legislature if you want change. remember the squeeky wheel gets the greese? liberals have had that figured out for a long time maybe the rest of us should as well.

50-Don't know what happens to it. Just know I'm tired of paying almost $4 a gallon for that darn stuff. Anything I can do to use less of it will help.

50-I know not to stop in Rifle. It hasn't been that long since I've been there. Am going I-40 to Flagstaff and then up to Cortez. Then over to Salida. Got a graduation to go to. Tell yours I'm sorry to miss it. Amazing that my oldest grandchild is going to graduate and your youngest is-on the same day. Got a 50 gal tank in the back. Hope I don't have to buy any fuel in Colorado at all.

Diesel is $4.69 gal. in Leadville. What is it in Craig? Would it be cheaper to go to Baggs to get fuel? We are buying about 40 gal. at a time.

Last I noticed diesel was that same price here. I have a web site I go to so I can check the gas prices of places I want to travel to and see if it is worth getting gas there.
Holy Cow! Just looked at that web site and it has diesel in Baggs at Shepards at 4.659 I think it was, but it has Craig anywhere from 4.699-4.899! Now this site is not always correct, so it could be better then that or it could be worse!

There is a lot of information on youtube about running your car on water. It is suppose to work for diesel too. Am going to do it to my car and maybe the truck when I get back home. This is crazy! Can use washer fluid in the winter. It doesn't emit enough water vapor to ice if it hits the road.

No, No 50 cal. You don't put it in your tank. You have a plastic quart jar. In it are two steele rods. One is hooked to a fuse and then to the ignition. The other is hooked to the neg. side of battery. You add water and baking soda to the jar. It has a fitting at the top that hooks a hose to it that goes to the air intake. It makes hydrogen gas that mixes with gasoline. Burns cleaner. Go to the Steamboat paper and see the forum I started there.
